Suzuki Celerio 2015

Suzuki is rectifying the brake faults on its Celerio city car following on from its recall from the UK and other right-hand drive markets earlier this month.

The Celerio was taken off sale in the UK following on from a brake failure at high speeds during a consumer magazine test at 80mph at Millbrook Proving Ground.

Suzuki carried out an immediate investigation into the cause, which relates to a possible fault in the brake pedal release mechanism.

All UK Suzuki dealers were immediately notified to directly contact customers who had recently taken delivery of their new vehicle.

Delivery of modified brake components is expected in the coming weeks.

A statement from Suzuki GB said: "Safety is of the utmost importance to Suzuki and we expect to return vehicles to customers as soon as is possible.

"Suzuki would like to take this opportunity to apologise to its customers and also thank them for their understanding and patience regarding this issue."

Customers with any further questions regarding their Celerio model should contact Suzuki Customer services on 0500 011959 or contact their supplying Suzuki dealer.
