Vauxhall targets mid-size fleets with new appointments

Date: 13 January 2015

Vauxhall is targeting growth with smaller fleets operating between 25-99 cars and vans by looking to offer more flexible services to fit in with their business needs.

Effective immediately, Vauxhall has tasked a new team of 11 fleet sales managers specifically to support the mid-size fleet segment and improve Vauxhall's "true fleet" share.

These field-based sales managers will work alongside the seperate team at Vauxhall which manages 100-plus fleet customers to ensure all businesses get a "uniformly high level of service".

James Taylor, Vauxhall's fleet sales director, said: "We know that these businesses have slightly different requirements than larger, more structured fleets and we really want to show that we can offer them the right flexibility in terms of their overall fleet package.

"We truly believe that supporting these businesses directly with the manufacturer is the best way forward as we can integrate them into all the initiatives and programmes we offer.  In turn, we hope to reap the rewards of this investment as part of our overall fleet strategy."

Vauxhall has put together what it calls a "fleet knowledge area" for mid-size fleets, which features video content and articles to help fleet operators better understand the key metrics to look out for when making a choice for their fleet. This includes a look at whole life costs, benefit-in-kind taxation and P11D values and guidance on how businesses can save money.
