Volkswagen adds R-Line trim to Golf range

Date: 02 February 2015

Volkswagen has expanded its Golf range with the addition of a sporty R-Line to sit above the GT model.

The Golf R-Line is priced from £24,190 and includes Discover Navigation, lowered sports suspension by 10mm and pre-crash preventative occupant protection as standard.

Buyers also get a rear spoiler, side skirts and radiator grille, air intakes, R-Line front bumpers and rear bumpers, 17-inch alloys on the outside and stainless steel pedals, black lead grey inlays and door trims, Sports Race front seats, leader gear knob and R-Line leather steering wheel on the interior.

VW is expecting first delivering of the first Golf R-Line models in time for the March plate-change.

The R-Line trim is available with VW's 2.0-litre diesel or a 1.4-litre TSI cylinder on-demand petrol.

A six-speed manual gearbox comes as standard, with a six-speed DSG also available.

Prices for the Golf hatchback range start at £17,175 for the entry-level 1.2-litre TSI petrol model.

The R-Line pricing on the Golf ranges from £24,190 to £26,765.
