Volkswagen unveils Passat Alltrack at Geneva

Volkswagen has revealed its Passat Alltrack crossover at the Geneva motor show. It goes on sale in the UK in October. No prices or specifications have been announced, but expect them to emerge closer to the model's on-sale date.

The Passat Alltrack is an independent model within the Passat range, but is based on the Passat estate. It sits 27.5mm higher off the ground than the Passat estate and features modified bumpers and an underbody guard.

Three diesels with varying power outputs (150hp, 190hp and 240hp) and two petrol engines (150hp and 220hp) power the Passat Alltrack, with the engines emitting from129g/km of CO2 to 170g/km CO2.

Safety-wise, the Passat Alltrack has a large range of driver assistance features including a head-up display, a lane-changing assistant emergency braking assist, traffic jam assist and trailer assist as standard.

VW's infotainment system features in the Passat Alltrack and includes the firm's App Connect function, which consists of applications such as MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
