VW emissions scandal: 1.1m UK vehicles affected

Date: 30 September 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

The Volkswagen Group has confirmed that more than 1.1 million UK vehicles are affected by the ongoing emissions scandal.

Nearly half of vehicles - 508,276 - come from Volkswagen's passenger car division, while 393,450 UK-registered Audis are affected, followed by 131,569 Skodas , 79,838 LCVs and 76,773 Seats.

The group has announced that in the coming days the VIN details of affected vehicles will be released to dealers, while a self-serve process for customers to check if their vehicles are affected is also being set up.

As part of an "action plan" by the group to "correct the emissions characteristics of certain diesel vehicles", customers with vehicles  affected by the issue will be contacted with details of a process to get their vehicles corrected "in the near future".
