AA takes on more than 550 Ford vans in new fleet deal

Date: 21 January 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Ford has delivered more than 550 Transit Custom and Courier vans to the AA, maintaining the blue oval's 50% share of the AA's 3000 vehicle fleet.

The majority of the AA's order is for the Transit Custom, with around 400 vans being fitted with the recovery firm's new trailer system, heavy-duty electrical equipment, racking and the yellow livery, while 70 Courier models are being taken for use by agents selling membership packages.

A further 70 Custom models, meanwhile, are equipped as AA Battery Assist vans, while nine more Customs are used as Fuel Assist vehicles.

"We are pleased that the AA finds the Ford Transit Custom and Ford Transit Courier ideal for its needs, a cost-effective purchase and a valuable addition to its fleet of vehicles, many of which are doing vital work to help motorists stranded at the roadside," said James Powell, Ford sales direct business manager.
