Activa Contracts launches wear and tear app

Date: 17 June 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Fleet management company Actvia Contracts has launched an end-of-life vehicle wear and tear app.

The launch of the app follows a pilot programme and the company publishing its own end-of-contract wear and tear guide.

Activa said the app will allow drivers to take photos of the vehicle and damage and send them on to the company a few weeks before the vehicle is due to be returned, with advice being given whether the damage is within the guidelines.

The leasing company also said the app can be used to send time-stamped photos to Activa when signing for rental vehicles to alert the firm to any damage to prevent queries arising in the future.

The app is available to download onto Apple iOS and Android smartphone devices.

The app gives our customers further peace of mind.

"We want drivers to think about looking after their vehicle from day one. However, unfortunately vehicle damage does occur. Nevertheless, we very rarely have a dispute with a customer over the validity or the cost of damage recharges, because our process is so transparent and reasonable," said Activa Contracts' remarketing manager Martin Hughes. "We are more understanding of our customers' perspective than many other leasing companies are and the policies and processes that we adopt in dealing with refurbishment costs ensure that we simply do not get into dispute in this area."

"But we do not want our customers having repairs carried out on damage that may well be within our guidelines. Taking and sending us photos means customers will be able to obtain a definitive answer," he added.
