Alfa Romeo Giulia to cost from £29,180

Date: 08 August 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Alfa Romeo has confirmed its BMW 3-series-rivalling Giulia saloon will cost from £29,180 when it arrives in showrooms next month.

Four engines are offered - a 2.2-litre diesel with either 150hp or 180hp, a 2.0-litre petrol with 200hp and a high-performance 2.9-litre petrol with 510hp.

Official efficiency figures are yet to be released, but it is expected the lower-powered diesel model will achieve around 109g/km of CO2 and return 67.2 mpg, meaning a 21% BIK tax band for the current 2016/17 year.

Five trim levels are available - Giulia, Super, Tecnica, Speciale and the range-topping Quadrifoglio which is available exclusively with the 510hp 2.9-litre petrol. Every Giulia will come equipped with a forward collision warning system alongside automatic emergency braking tools, a lane departure warning system, a 6.5-inch infotainment system, rear parking sensors and cruise control.

Super trim adds larger 17-inch alloy wheels, an 8.8-inch screen with satnav and leather and cloth trims in three colour options.

Moving up to Tecnica gains a driver assistance pack featuring front and rear parking sensors and rear view camera and privacy glass, while the Speciale trim level adds 18-inch wheels, Xenon headlamps, sports bumpers and heated leather seats.
