BMW clarifies 330e position

Date: 07 March 2016   |   Author:

In the wake of BusinessCar's exclusive story on BMW cancelling fleet customer orders of its new plug-in 3-series 330e model, the brand has moved to clarify the situation.

"An incorrect rate was supplied by one of our retailers to the leasing brokers in question. As a result, affected orders could not be fulfilled at the quoted price," a spokesman told BusinessCar. "BMW UK and the brokers and relevant leasing companies are currently working together to look after the customers affected."

BMW said it had dealt with those impacted individually, offering a deal on other cars as compensation if they weren't wishing to acquire a 330e on the higher monthly rate.

"If they were happy to take the car on the correct rate and could wait for delivery then they would," the spokesman added.

BMW confirmed that 100 customers were affected, and that strong demand for the new model means the 330e waiting time is now into 2017.
