Jaguar's new XE has received the ultimate seal of approval in the UK corporate marketplace by winning the influential Business Car of the Year title in the 2016 BusinessCar Awards.

Voted for by the readers of BusinessCar magazine and, these are the only awards decided by the fleet industry at large, and Jaguar's crucial new player has made an immediate impact in taking the top prize.

"It seems Jaguar has found instant credibility in the business car sector with its new model, and the XE manages to combine the fleet essentials of great residual values, emissions and running costs in a fine-handling and stylish car," said BusinessCar Editor Paul Barker. "It's clear from this result that the XE is a car that fleets already love, and it has been successful in establishing a credible alternative to the traditional premium German players in a crucial, highly competitive and extremely high-quality area of the marketplace."

BMW was another big winner, claiming no less than seven prizes, including the headline awards of Manufacturer of the Year and Green Model of the Year for the i3.

The AA was Service Supplier of the Year, as well as winning three category awards, and Ford took a hat-trick of prizes for the Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo.

Other car award winners included Fiat, Hyundai, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Tesla, while in the service supplier sector Alphabet, BCA, Enterprise, ATS Euromaster and RAC Business Solutions were among the winners.

"These awards - decided by the people using and relying on the products, services and companies every day to make their businesses safer, more efficient and fundamentally better - reward those doing the best job to serve the marketplace," said Barker. "It's a pleasure to commend the best in the business, and our congratulations go to all the winners."
