Date: 07 March 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association recognised the contributions of top performing companies and industry figures at its annual dinner in London last week.

The 2016 awards were presented in three sections: The Industry Achievement Awards, The Airport Operator of the Year Award and the Industry Hero Awards.

Bryan Macdermid of Arnold Clark won the City & Guilds Achievement Award for the individual who attained the highest pass mark in the Certificate for Rental Operator Skills exam, while Marco Capozzoli of Volkswagen Financial Services won the Fleet Consultant Development Programme Award.

This year, the BVRLA named three people as its Industry Heroes: Debby Moore of Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions, Julian Okoronkwo of Activa Contract, and Sara Williams of Brecon Car Rentals.

Heathrow Airport, meanwhile, won the Airport Operator of the Year Award.

The winners picked up their awards in front of 950 industry colleagues at the association's event in the London Hilton on Park Lane.

"Our awards recognise the very best individuals in the rental and leasing industry," said BVRLA chief executive, Gerry Keaney. "Whether it's the top performers from our accreditation and training courses, or the Industry Heroes who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, our winners are excellent ambassadors for our sector."
