Chargemaster expands London network

Date: 07 June 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Electric charging point operator Chargemaster is set to expand its Polar rapid charging network in London this summer.

The firm currently operates 4000 points in the UK.

"We're putting 30 rapid chargers in London in July and August. There are only something like six rapid chargers in London at the moment," David Martell, CEO of Chargemaster told BusinessCar.

The six rapid chargers are currently located in Hackney, and Martell told BusinessCar the new additions to the network will be located "in places like Kew Park" as well as shopping centres and Canary Wharf, as well as a number of on-street chargers dotted around the capital.

According to data from leasing company Lex Autolease, running a BMW i3 over a  four years/60,000 mile cycle could deliver a potential saving of £2784 over the four years when compared to a diesel or petrol-powered rival.
