Charging point discounts offered to businesses to encourage EV uptake

Date: 17 June 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Electric vehicle charging company EO Charging has teamed up with travel consultancy company, Go Travel Solutions to encourage businesses to take up electric vehicles.

EO Charging is offering discounts, which are not ordinarily available to the general public and employers, on its home and workplace charging points to new and existing members of Go Travel Solutions' Smartgo workplace travel scheme, in addition to the existing Government grants.

The discounts are:

. 20% off workplace vehicle charging points

. 20% off basic workplace vehicle charger

. 20% off home charger

The firm will also handle consultancy, site surveys and infrastructure selection, package design and finance options as well as installing and maintaining the points.

Smartgo has been developed in an attempt to assist UK workplaces with commuting and business travel. The network provides employers with a range of benefits including reduced business costs, carbon management planning and reduced car parking demand.

Employees can also benefit from cost savings offered by Smartgo through more car sharing and use of public transport.

"As the technology continues to develop and cost-effective choices become more readily available, the take-up of electric vehicles in the UK is rising considerably," said Robin Pointon, managing director at Go Travel Solutions. "By partnering with EO Charging, we can encourage UK employers and their staff to consider a move to electric vehicle usage within the workplace environment."
