The start point for the best source of fleet information

Chevin joins Go Ultra Low

Date: 06 July 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Fleet management software provider Chevin Fleet Solutions has joined the Government-backed Go Ultra Low campaign.

By joining the green group, Chevin has now committed to ensure at least 5% of its fleet consists of electric vehicles, and has implemented emissions restrictions for the rest of its fleet.

From now on, company cars must achieve CO2 emissions under 119g/km and record more than 57mpg.

"Our fleet is quite small, so in a sense this is a symbolic move, but it also shows our customers and others that it is possible to integrate ultra-low emission vehicles into your operations," said Ashley Sowerby, managing director of Chevin. "We have just taken delivery of our first electric vehicle - my own Tesla - and we will be making EVs available to other Chevin employees as their cars come up for replacement."

"We are gathering, everyday, real world experience of what it is like to operate EVs. These are lessons we can use to help our own fleet software customers as they also look towards adopting ULEVs," Sowerby added.
