Eden Project takes on 18 Renault EVs in new fleet deal

Date: 20 June 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

The Eden Project has taken on 18 electric Renault vehicles as part in new fleet deal following a trial.

The vehicles - 13 Kangoo vans, three Zoe superminis and two Twizy quadricycles will be used by the Cornish tourist attraction's team throughout the site and also further afield to help promote the centre.

The Twizys will be used to negotiate the Eden Project's pathways and will also be able to go inside the climate-controlled biodomes, while two of the Zoes will be used to assist with visitor services.

The Kangoos, meanwhile - four maxi crew cab versions and nine panel vans - will used in a number of areas including maintenance, horticulture, security and catering.

The fleet deal follows on from Renault becoming the official car supplier of the Eden Sessions music concerts, while the French manufactuer confirmed it would host an electric vehicle exhibition this summer, designed to provide visitors with information on the workings and environmental benefits of electric vehicles.

"We are delighted to have strengthened our relationship with Renault and to have this opportunity to showcase a beautiful new fleet of electric vehicles at Eden. We are always keen to promote the benefits of electric vehicles in reducing carbon emissions," said Rita Broe, sales and marketing director at The Eden Project. "Having the Renault fleet hard at work across the site, as well as hosting a major interactive Renault exhibit at Eden in peak season, will help inform and educate our hundreds of thousands of visitors about the benefits of owning electric cars in a fun, engaging way."
