Facelifted Mitsubishi ASX unveiled

Date: 01 November 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Mitsubishi has revealed a facelifted version of its ASX crossover, which is on sale now.

Engines are carried over from the outgoing model, meaning it is powered by a 116hp 1.6-litre petrol unit, a 114hp 1.6-litre diesel motor and a 150hp 2.2-litre diesel engine.

Emissions are rated at 119g/km of CO2 for the lower-powered diesel unit, the petrol emits 132g/km, and the larger diesel emits 152g/km.

Visually, the front of the ASX now falls into line with other models in the Mitsubishi range by incorporating chrome streaks to either side of the grille, while it also features a new radio antenna, and updated upholstery inside.

Four trim levels are offered: ASX 2, ASX 3, ASX 4 and ASX 5. The entry-level model features air-conditioning and USB ports with iPhone compatibility.

ASX 3 adds larger 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, cruise control, xenon lights, DAB radio and a reversing camera.

The mid-level ASX 4 trim, meanwhile, features four-wheel drive as standard and is only available with the two diesel engines. Standard features, in addition to the ASX 2 and 3 trim levels, include leather upholstery, a glass roof, and the company's seven-inch touchscreen media system.

Top-of-the-range ASX 5 trim adds Nappa leather upholstery, LED interior lighting, twin rear USB charging points, and front-door entry guards.

The ASX is priced from £15,999.
