Ssangyong has revealed an extended version of its Tivoli crossover ahead of it going on sale this summer.

The new model expands boot space from 423 litres to 720 litres thanks to a 238mm increase in body length.

The Korean car maker also confirmed the Tivoli XLV is equipped with the firm's 115hp 1.6-litre diesel unit which emits 117g/km of CO2 and returns 62.8mpg in two-wheel drive guise.

This model follows on from the XLV Air concept which was shown at last year's Frankfurt motor show.

"The Tivoli has been praised universally for meeting a number of customer requirements, not least its ability to carry five adults in comfort and with one of the largest boot capacities, while many other cars in the sector are regarded as being a 'down-size' too far," said Paul Williams, CEO of Ssangyong UK. "Now Ssangyong has gone a step further by launching an extended car to provide even more carrying capacity and practicality."

Prices are due to be announced closer to the vehicle's on sale date.
