Alfa Romeo has unveiled a facelifted version of its Giulletta lower medium hatchback ahead of its debut at the Geneva motor show next week.

Under the bonnet there's now the option of combining the 120hp 1.6-litre diesel engine with a twin-clutch automatic transmission. In this configuration, the engine returns 74.3mpg and produces 99 g/km of CO2.

The Giulietta range features five new trim levels: Giulietta, Super, Tecnica, Speciale and Veloce.

Tecnica replaces Business Edition trim and includes a 6.5-inch media system with sat-nav, automatic lights and wipers, front and rear parking sensors, new 16-inch wheels, and rear privacy glass.

The engine range includes a 120hp 1.6-litre diesel and 2.0-litre diesel with 175hp.

The updated model goes on sale in the UK in April, with prices being announced closer to the vehicle's launch date.
