Volvo has revealed its all-new V90 estate car ahead of its public debut at the Geneva motor show next month.
The V90 - a rival for the likes of the BMW 5-series estate and Mercedes-Benz E-class estate - is due to go on sale in the UK in the second half of the year.
The V90 will be powered by the same range of engines as the XC90 4x4, including Volvo's 407hp T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Technology featured in the V90 includes the firm's Pilot Assist - which should keep the car in its lane and maintain a safe distance behind the car in front autonomously on the motorway - is the most advanced standard safety package on the market, according to the company.
Volvo's new estate also features large animal detection software - which automatically brakes the car if it senses large animals ahead - and run-off road mitigation kit, which detects if the car leaves the road and automatically tightens the seatbelts.
The Swedish firm also claims the V90 features "class-leading" smartphone integration with Apple's CarPlay software.
"We have a very strong position in the estate segment," said Hakan Samuelsson, president and chief executive of Volvo Cars.
"In many people's minds we are known as the definitive estate brand. While the Volvo brand today stands for more than estates, we are proud to carry forward this rich heritage with the V90."
