Ford Edge and Kuga first SUVs to land luxurious Vignale trim

Ford has expanded the number of models in its range that come with the luxurious Vignale trim.to by adding the Edge and Kuga.

The addition of Vignale trim to the Edge and Kuga two SUVs takes the number of models with the top-level trim to four, joining with the Mondeo and S-max MPV.

Based on the facelifted version of the small SUV, the Kuga Vignale was first shown at the Geneva motor show in March 2016. It comes with styling features that are bespoke to the Vignale range, including a quilted leather interior with leather details on the instrument panel, exclusive colour options, and the hexagonal Vignale grille.

There is a choice of four engines, with the most efficient being a 150hp 2.0-litre 150hp diesel that emits 122g/km and offers 60.1mpg when paired to with a six-speed manual gearbox. The most efficient petrol is a 150hp 1.5-litre Ecoboost petrol that emits 145g/km of CO2 and returns 44.8mpg. More powerful versions of both engines are available with all-wheel-drive.

The Edge comes with similar styling enhancements, and adds 19-inch alloy wheels and chrome exterior detailing. It also offers Ford's Active Noise Control system, which reduces engine noise in the cabin.

The Edge Vignale is only Aavailable with AWD only, the Edge Vignale and comes with a choice of two engines:  a 210hp bi-turbo 2.0-litre diesel that is paired with a six-speed Powershift automatic gearbox, and a six-speed manual 180hp 2.0-litre diesel. Both claim 47.9mpg and emit 152g/km.

Pricing for the Kuga Vignale starts at £30,795, while the Edge starts at £38,000. Both are available to order now, with first deliveries due by December 2016.
