The start point for the best source of fleet information

Ford expands van mobile servicing reach

Date: 22 January 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Ford is expanding its mobile servicing reach beyond the M25 motorway following a trial last year.

The mobile servicing system offers commercial vehicle fleet customers workshop levels of servicing, maintenance and repairs on their own premises.

Ford added its mechanics will be able to service non-Ford vehicles, making it more convenient for fleets running more than brand.

Following last year's trial, the scheme has been extended to cover fleets based in and around Farnborough, Hampshire and County Durham as well as Greater London.

Mobile technicians receive full specialist training and operate from a fleet of liveried Ford Transit vans, with 2.5-tonne jacks and axle stands, which allow safe access to the underside of vehicles for routine jobs.

The vans are also equipped with on-board diagnostic capability and have been fitted with specially designed racking, which holds tools and equipment to carry out services.

"We are delighted to be extending Ford Mobile Servicing," said Terry Rayner, Ford Transit Centre director. "There is growing national interest in mobile servicing among our UK Transit Centres - many of whom will follow for even greater national coverage through 2016."
