Ford to test self-driving cars in Europe in 2017

Ford has announced it will test autonomous cars in Europe from next year.
The American manufacturer has been testing self-driving cars in the US for a number of years, and currently runs a fleet of 30 such vehicles on roads in California, Arizona and Michigan.
According to Ford, it is expanding its network of testing locations as European roads are vastly different to those in America.
"People are really beginning to think about exactly what autonomous vehicles could mean to their day-to-day lives," said Thomas Lukaszewicz, manager of automated driving at Ford of Europe. "Many of us neglect time for ourselves and for our loved ones in the face of other demands. Self-driving cars will revolutionise the way we live, as well as the way we travel."
On average, European motorists spend up to 10 days a year in their car, and a previous survey by the manufacturer suggested that a quarter of the respondents found their commute to be more stressful than their job.
