Glass's names top five RV-friendly options

Vehicle valuations experts Glass's has named five optional extras that will add value to vehicles when it is it time to defleet them.

According to Rupert Pontin, director of valuations at the firm, few options help to increase the value of vehicles or made it easier to remarket, however there are a few exceptions.

"Apart from these five, almost nothing that can be added to a vehicle has any real value. Even some options that are very expensive, such as advanced safety features and upgraded audio systems, offer little or nothing," Pontin said.

The number one choice is a built-in satnav, with Pontin saying that upgraded screen and mapping options will help to add value to vehicles in the higher echelons of the market, while upgraded alloy wheels "tends to improve the forecourt appeal of every vehicle."

Panoramic roofs are also a wise investment as they "look appealing" and also add to everyday driving, while Bluetooth integration is regarded as a deal-breaker among younger buyers, as is air conditioning systems or climate control.
