Jaguar Land Rover launches tech arm

Date: 11 April 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Jaguar Land Rover has launched technology arm InMotion to build apps and on-demand delivery services.

From May, InMotion will test a number of services such as car sharing and alternative car ownership setups across North America, Europe and Asia in real-world conditions.

InMotion will start by establishing which emerging travel and transport issues need solving, and devising ways to address these.

The technology platform will then be developed, before being launched as a public trial.

As wholly-owned subsidiary of Jaguar Land Rover, InMotion is based in London and will employ around 30 people to develop new technologies.

"As a start-up business, InMotion combines the flexibility and pace needed to compete in the ever-changing mobility sector. It allows us to react quickly to new tech and ever-changing customer demands," said Adrian Hallmark, group strategy director at Jaguar Land Rover.
