Jaguar XE retains Fleet Car of the Year gong at ACFO Awards

The Jaguar XE has retained its crown as the Association of Car Fleet Operators' Fleet Car of the Year at the fleet body's annual awards ceremony.
Fleet favourite the BMW 3-series was highly commended in the category, as was Mercedes' C-class plug-in hybrid.
The winners were announced during a gala dinner at the St John's Hotel in Solihull last night.
The awards - now in their 33rd year - are voted for online by ACFO members following industry nominations and reflect the views of day-to-day fleet decision-makers.
Marshall Leasing won the Fleet Service Company of the Year award, a category it has won twice before, in 2010 and 2013, while road safety charity Brake, a newcomer to the ranks of ACFO awards winners, won the Fleet Safety Initiative of the Year by providing decision-makers with a range of resources to improve road risk management within the fleet industry.
Tesla was also a newcomer to the podium, scooping the Environmental Initiative of the Year award, while its Model S luxury vehicle co-won the Green Vehicle of the Year category alongside BMW's i3.
This year's awards also marked a return to the winner's enclosure for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and the Volkswagen Caddy, the former of which won the Large Van of the Year award, and the latter scooped the Small Van of the Year gong.
"ACFO's annual awards provide a further opportunity for fleet decision-makers to get their views over to vehicle manufacturers and service companies," said John Pryor, ACFO chairman. "Fleet decision-makers are reliant on motor manufacturers to deliver vehicles that are cost-effective to operate, safe, reliable and environmentally friendly, and suppliers and other organisations to provide a first-class service.
"Operating successfully in partnership, it means that through the availability of top-quality vehicles and first-rate suppliers, vehicle downtime can be kept to an absolute minimum and fleet managers can focus on the efficient and effective operation of their vehicles to support their businesses," he added.
