Maserati Levante SUV to cost from £54,355

Date: 27 May 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Maserati has confirmed its Levante SUV will cost from £54,355 when it goes on sale later this year.

The firm's first 4x4 is fitted with a 275hp 3.0-litre diesel engine and a 3.0-litre petrol engine with two power output options.

The most fleet-friendly model is the diesel engine, which emits 189g/km of CO2 and returns 39.2mpg, placing it in the 34% BIK bracket.

The lower-powered (350hp) petrol model emits 249g/km of CO2 and returns 26.4mpg, while the top-spec 450hp Levante S model emits 253g/km of CO2 and returns 25.9mpg.

Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a four-wheel-drive system that has been designed for the Levante.

The production SUV follows on from the 2011 Kubang concept, which first signaled the Italian firm's intention to build an off-roader.

Inside, the SUV features an 8.4-inch touchscreen, high-end leather seats - with the option for silk seats - and an electric sunroof.

Driver assistance technology, meanwhile, includes adaptive cruise control with automatic start/stop functions, a forward collision warning system, automatic brake assist and a lane departure warning system.

Optional extras include blind spot alerts, surround view cameras and a powerlift tailgate, while two extended feature packs - the Luxury Pack and the Sport Pack - are also available, priced at £60,285.
