Morrisons drops petrol prices below £1 per litre

Date: 21 November 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Morrisons has announced customers will be able to pay less than a pound a litre for petrol from today.

However, the deal only applies to those who spend £50 or more in its stores, thus receiving a 10p-per-litre discount voucher.

The supermarket has reduced the price of petrol to 109.9p per litre, 6.6p per litre cheaper than last Monday's national average.

The retailer is currently selling diesel at 110p per litre, with the 10p-a-ltre offer matching the petrol discount meaning those who shop at the store and receive the vouchers will pay just over a pound a litre.

"With Christmas around the corner, our customers tell us they very much welcome our help in reducing the cost of their fuel. That's why we are turning the clock back to the start of this year when petrol prices were typically below £1 per litre," said Roger Fogg, services director at Morrisons.

The deal takes place from 21 November-3 December.
