New account manager appointed at Alphabet

Date: 06 April 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Alphabet has appointed Craig Grant as its new head of account management, as part of a new approach to relationships with customers - which sees leasing companies being provided with two contacts rather than one.

Grant joins the top-three BC50 leasing company from the RAC, where he had been for nine years, leading management teams in roles including business development director.

His appointment is part of a rejig, where Alphabet is aiming to move away from what it calls an 'outdated model' of account management involving one account manager looking after a number of clients.

Alphabet's new model is structured around customers having two contacts of equivalent standing - an account manager responsible for strategy and development, as well as a service manager. As part of this new structure Holly Smith moves from her role as major accounts relationship manager to head of service management and head of account management, Bernadette Maguire becomes head of corporate partnerships.

"We're delighted to announce that Craig has joined the team. His appointment is an important one for the business and our customers," said Deborah Jenkins, general manager of customer relationship management at Alphabet.

"It is part of a shift in how we manage our customers' needs - both on a day-to-day basis and strategically over the next five years - which further differentiates Alphabet in the market."
