The start point for the best source of fleet information

New Fiat UK MD appointed

Date: 23 August 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Ashley Andrew has been appointed as managing director of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK, replacing Steve Zanlunghi.

Zanlunghi has left FCA UK to head up its Australian operations.

Andrew joins the Italian firm, which is ranked in 15th place in terms of fleet registrations, from Skoda UK where he was head of marketing.

Before that, he was head of operations at sister brand Seat and has also held positions at Rolls-Royce, BMW, Mini and Ford.

"With award-winning products such as Jeep Renegade, Fiat Tipo and Alfa Romeo Giulia to work with, I'm looking forward to the opportunities ahead and to further growing our business in the UK market," he said. "Steve has left the company in an excellent condition. I intend to build on the good work that the team here has done."

The Italian firm last month announced the appointment of Robert English and Mike Miles to its sales team in order to increase its presence in the fleet market, while the company also confirmed its Ford Focus-rivaling Tipo hatchback will be fitted with a fleet-friendly 120hp 1.6-litre diesel unit which emits 89g/km of CO2, from September

Costing from £16,995, the unit emits 83.1mpg and places the model in the 18% 2016/17 BIK band. According to Fiat, the engine is expected to represent 20% of total UK sales, with 45% of the Tipo's total allocation expected to go to the fleet market.
