New Nissan Micra revealed at Paris motor show

Nissan has revealed the fifth generation of its Micra supermini at the Paris motor show.
Due to go on sale in March 2017, the Micra is powered by three engines - a 90hp 0.9-litre three-cylinder petrol, a 90hp 1.5-litre diesel unit and a 73hp 1.0-litre petrol unit.
Efficiency information has not been revealed yet. The current model's 80hp 1.2-litre petrol unit emits 115g/km of CO2 and returns 65.7mpg, so it is likely Nissan will target improvements on these figures for the new model.
Styling-wise, the Micra is influenced by the Sway concept from 2015. The vehicle features the firm's signature boomerang-shaped lights, first seen on the GT-R sports car, while the rear door handles are hidden in the vehicle's C-pillars.
The new Micra is equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen, which provides access to the audio system, satnav, mobile phone, apps and Siri voice control via Apple CarPlay.
Safety-wise the Micra features include lane departure warning - a first for the segment - autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, traffic sign recognition, high-beam assist and a blind spot warning tool.

It also shows our intent to compete right at the top of Europe's B-segment market - the largest and most competitive B-segment market in the world."
