Nissan achieves record electric vehicle fleet sales

Nissan recorded a 45% jump in electric vehicle fleet sales across Europe in the 2015 financial year compared with the previous year, with UK registrations up 43%.

More than 20,000 Nissan electric vehicles have been sold to European fleet customers to date -- with the brand recording increasing fleet registrations for the Leaf lower medium hatchback and the e-NV200 van for the fourth consecutive year in the 2015 fiscal year.

The company sold more than 7500 Leafs and e-NV200s to fleets across the continent in the last financial year, securing more than a quarter of the pure electric fleet market.

"Nissan not only offers a great pure electric range for businesses, but we have also employed EV fleet specialists in most European countries, trained to provide advice and support to customers, offering analysis of total ownership costs and charging infrastructure", said Gareth Dunsmore, director of electric vehicles for Nissan Europe.

Fleets using Nissan electric vehicles include West Midlands Police, which has recently renewed its fleet of 30 Leafs, Austrian state postal authority, which has a fleet of 160 e-NV200s - and has recently confirmed an order for 100 more - and the city of Bari in Italy, which has just purchased 30 Leafs to form a car sharing service.
