Nissan and Telogis to offer next-gen connected car tech to fleets

Date: 04 October 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Nissan and fleet software provider Telogis have teamed up to offer what the companies are calling "next-generation" connected vehicle technologies for fleets.

Called Nissan ConnectFleet, the new hardware connects the vehicle to Telogis' platform which is able to receive and analyise driver and vehicle performance history which is then fed back to the client in order for it to help to make more informed decisions.

Due to be rolled out from the autumn, the following vehicles will be compatible with the service: Qashqai, X-Trail, Juke, Navara, NV200 and E-NV200, NT400 and Leaf.

Other vehicles will be added in the near future.

"The time has come for Nissan commercial customers to benefit from the visibility and operational intelligence they gain by connecting their business," said Philippe Guerin-Boutaud, corporate vice president of the global LCV business unit at Nissan. "From empowering workers on the road and in the field to helping them be safer and more efficient, to optimising daily delivery routes, NissanConnect Fleet will have a transformational effect on the way Nissan customers do business."

"Customers will experience near-immediate return on investment by utilising the built-in connection in their Nissan vehicles," said Kevin Moore, vice president, global OEM automotive sales at Telogis. "Telogis delivers mission-critical applications that enable Nissan commercial customers in Europe to connect, optimise and automate their operations, improve the lives of their drivers and provide a higher level of service to their own customers."
