Nissan expands fleet sales team

Date: 28 July 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Nissan has made a number of appointments and structural changes within its fleet team as it aims to keep pace with increased demand.

Robert Tweedle has been promoted to the role of fleet sales director and will oversee day-to-day fleet sales operations.

Tweedle was most recently electric vehicle category manager at Nissan, having joined the company in 2010.

Former fleet director, Mark Wheeler, meanwhile, has moved to the newly-created role of director of LCV and customer relationships.

The Japanese manufacturer has also recruited eight people to form a new mid-sized fleet team, designed to cater for companies operating between 50 and 200 vehicles.

"With the fleet team dedicated to corporates, we are currently asking them to do too much - they have too many clients," Nissan GB boss Jim Wright told BusinessCar in April. "We are rated highly by leasing companies and small fleets, but by medium [fleets] we are not."

"Nissan's presence in the fleet sector has grown significantly in recent years and we intend to remain on this upward trajectory," said Darren Payne, UK sales director at Nissan who recently moved from Renault. "The key appointments we have made will ensure we have the right people in place to achieve all of our reputational targets and growth aspirations moving forward."

"Meanwhile, the changes we have implemented will make us much more flexible as an organisation and better able to respond to the changing needs of our fleet customers," he added.
