Date: 03 February 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Hyundai has confirmed pricing and specification details for its updated i20 and i20 Active models ahead of them going on sale next month.

The Active variant features taller suspension than the standard model, and has a P11D value of £15,170.

The model is powered by the company's new 100hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which emits 110g/km of CO2 and returns 58.9mpg in the Active, placing it in the 17% BIK band.

Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloys, LED daytime running lights, digital radio and rear parking sensors.

Meanwhile in the standard i20 hatchback, Hyundai is replacing the 1.4-litre petrol model with the more efficient 100hp petrol three-pot. It costs £400 more than the outgoing model, with CO2 emissions starting at 99g/km and BIK from 14%.

It is priced from £13,970. Hyundai is also introducing a 120hp version of this engine which emits from 112g/km of CO2.

"With the addition of the i20 Active, our customers can now also have a stylish, well-equipped and rugged i20 at a very affordable price, and we're confident it'll be another successful addition to the Hyundai line-up," said Tony Whitehorn, president and CEO of Hyundai UK.
