The start point for the best source of fleet information

Renault plans week-long tests

Date: 04 April 2016

Renault plans to offer week-long test drives to fleet users in a bid to help them gauge real-world fuel economy, Ken Ramirez, the company's outgoing UK managing director told BusinessCar just ahead of his move to become European sales and marketing boss.

With imminent replacements for the ageing lower medium Megane and the Scenic people carrier, Renault wants to win back the confidence of fleet managers who know the model names but haven't had them on choice lists for a while.

"We are doing a few things to help people get to know them, like longer-term test drives for a week or so, to let them really try the vehicles", said Ramirez. "What we want to do is give them [fleet drivers and companies] the opportunity to experience the driving of course, but also mileage - fuel economy - and you can't experience that over a day.

"We know they have very good fuel economy. We can say that, but fleets need to experience it," he concluded.
