The start point for the best source of fleet information

Skoda Kodiaq revealed ahead of Paris debut

Date: 01 September 2016   |   Author:

Skoda has unveiled its first large SUV, with the Kodiaq going on sale in the UK early next year.

Coming with a choice of five engines, five or seven seats and either front- or all-wheel drive, the Kodiaq also brings new technology to the Skoda range for the first time.

The engine line-up will consist of 2.0 TDI diesels with 150 and 190hp, and 125 and 150 hp 1.4 and 180hp 2.0 petrol units.

 Side

The most efficient model is the 150hp diesel at 131g/km and 56.5mpg, though the 125hp petrol model's 140g/km means it will be cheaper on BIK tax because it's likely to have a cheaper P11D and it'll be one band lower.

The Kodiaq is, at 4697mm long, 40mm longer than an Octavia, but Skoda claims above average interior space and the largest boot in the sector at 720 litres. The second row of seats are adjustable in sliding by 180mm and offering an adjustable backrest. The option of a third row of seats makes the Kodiaq Skoda's first seven-seater.

Inside

Technology offered, either as an option or on higher trim levels (UK specification is yet to be confirmed) includes heated, ventilated and powered front seats, tri-zone climate control, electric tailgate, trailer assist, surround-vie cameras and various other safety systems.

"The Skoda Kodiaq offers all of our brand's strengths: well thought-out functionality, superior interior space and excellent value for money," said Skoda's technical development boss Christian Strube.
