Specifications revealed for Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs

Date: 08 November 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Renault has announced that its fourth-generation Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs will be priced from £21,445 when they make their UK debuts next month.

From launch, five engines will be offered: two petrol (115hp and 130hp 1.2) and three diesel units (110hp and 160hp 1.5, plus a 130hp 1.6).

The most efficient of those will be the 110hp diesel, with emissions of 100g/km of CO2, although a diesel hybrid model will be available from spring 2017 with emissions of 92g/km.

Four trim levels will be offered: Expression+, Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav and Signature Nav.

Renault claims the cars are the only vehicles in the class to offer an active emergency braking system with pedestrian detection as standard.

Standard kit includes a lane departure warning tool, traffic sign recognition and automatic lights, LED daytime running lights, a DAB radio, a seven-inch touchscreen, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Dynanique Nav adds front and rear parking sensors, a fatigue alert - whereby the car monitors steering control to detect tiredness and alerts the driver to take a break - and a hands-free card that allows the car to lock itself once the driver has walked away from it.

Meanwhile, Dynamique S Nav adds a larger, 8.7-inch touchscreen, a head-up colour display system, a parking camera, and a glass roof, while the top-of-the-range Signature Edition models feature leather upholstery, and fog lights with a cornering function.
