The start point for the best source of fleet information

Tracker launches self-install telematics kit

Date: 26 February 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Tracker has launched a new plug-in and play telematics device, available from £9.95 a month.

The self-install device named plugs in connects to vehicles' on-board diagnostic port, and provides fleet managers with real-time driver and vehicle information in an attempt to improve fleet efficiency. The kit logs how safely and economically staff are driving, and where the vehicle is.

Users are able to access driver and vehicle data via Tracker's website, which features a customisible reporting dashboard.

Fleet managers are able to monitor driver behaviour, view maps and schedule reports.

Crash detection technology is also included, providing instant accident notifications and being able to distinguish between bumps and crashes, with reports provided via email and screen alerts.

Should a vehicle develop a fault, data will be read via the Tracker Connect device and diagnostic information decoded and reported back to the website.

"We recognise the continual challenges businesses face in trying to improve productivity and cut waste within their fleets," said David Wilson, chief operating officer at Tracker.

"As such, Tracker Connect is the latest addition to Tracker's suite of fleet tracking systems, which give fleet managers the information they need to drive positive change in efficiencies, cut fuel costs and reduce emissions, at a very affordable monthly price," he added.
