Updated Audi A6 and A7 revealed

Date: 25 April 2016   |   Author:

Audi has unveiled revised versions of the A6 executive saloon and estate and the A7 hatchback, which gain updated styling, plusher interiors and greater connectivity with the option of Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility.

Entry-level trim for the A6 is now named 'SE Executive' - and replaces the current car's 'SE' designation - gaining bolder, sharper styling all around, while adding LED interior lighting, heated front seats, electric lumbar support adjustment and aluminium trim.

S-line versions feature the same kit as SE Executive models plus styling updates including a new grille with matt black surround and chrome slats, electric front seats with driver-side memory and electric-folding wing mirrors. A7 SE Executive models, meanwhile, gain a new alloy wheel design. All A6s and A7s now include standard-fit xenon or LED headlights, leather seats, satnav, four-zone climate control and a 180-watt sound system.

Audi's smartphone interface is now available for the A6 and A7 in the optional 'Technology Pack' and adds Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility, meaning that users connecting their smartphone through the car's USB port can view phone navigation, calling, music and third party apps in a separate menu, which can be accessed through the media system or via voice controls. This pack also now includes inductive charging for compatible phone handsets.

Prices for the updated A6 range now start at £32,995, with the estate available from £35,095. The A7, meanwhile, now costs from £46,865. Order books for the new models open in May, with the first new models arriving in the summer.
