Vauxhall app update allows users to send direction from phone to satnav

Vauxhall owners are now able to programme journeys into the car's satnav from their smartphone.

The system uses the firm's OnStar personal assistant and the company's smartphone app, allowing drivers to enter destinations on the phone and send them to the car at the push of a button.

The update to the My Vauxhall app also includes the ability to add photos and comments to the Vehicle Location function, while a timer can also be set, reminding people when their parking tickets are due to expire.

"Vauxhall OnStar is already popular with our customers and this latest update only makes Vauxhall's connected services even stronger," said Mike Lee, Vauxhall's head of OnStar strategy and planning. "With the new Send Destination function and the helpful enhancements to Vehicle Location, the latest My Vauxhall smartphone app offers OnStar users more convenience and even greater peace of mind."

The app is available from the Google Play Store and the App Store.
