Venson and EO Charging partner to help fleets move to EVs

Venson has partnered with charging point provider EO Charging to help make electric and plug-in hybrid cars and vans more suitable for fleet managers.
The leasing company is offering its clients EO Charging's CleanFleet service which uses GPS data to work out the feasibility of moving to EVs and is designed for use among fleets with 50 vehicles or more on their books.
The product was highly commended in this year's BusinessCar Techie Awards.
The system - which plugs into 12V sockets in petrol and diesel vehicles -- collects real-world driving data to create a profile that leads to a suitability rating for switching from traditional internal combustion fuels to electric or hybrid, along with vehicle recommendation lists that are complete with whole-life cost analysis reporting based on vehicles which are available through Venson.
"Through this partnership, CleanFleet benefits from Venson's fleet management expertise, ensuring clients get the best match of vehicles for their business," said Charlie Jardine, CEO of EO Charging. "The perception of electric and hybrid vehicles is that they are too expensive with a limited range. However, the technology has developed very quickly, so this isn't the case anymore."
"But we do understand that electric vehicles aren't suitable for every business. CleanFleet was established to help fleet managers find the right vehicles for their business by comparing their current fleet to the potential benefits of alternative fuel fleets," he added.
