The start point for the best source of fleet information

VW strikes fleet deal with Well Pharmacy

Date: 18 March 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will supply around 450 new vans - the majority of which are Caddy small vans - to pharmaceutical chain Well Pharmacy in a new fleet deal.

The high-street company said it chose the Caddy because of its reputation for reliability, and also because of VW's aftersales support package, which includes like-for-like courtesy vehicles, free roadside assistance and online booking.

"Keeping our national prescription delivery team on the road is vital, as our customers' health depends on the swift delivery of their medicine," said Brian James, fleet and home delivery manager at Well Pharmacy. "When selecting our fleet partner, we took into consideration those areas that most affected our business, including vehicle quality, aftercare service and whole life costs."

Telematics company Airmax Remote will supply live in-vehicle tracking equipment to the pharmacy's fleet, which serves 780 branches across the UK.

The platform will allow the firm to access a range of information, including remote vehicle diagnostics and driver behaviour.

"We have selected Airmax Remote as our partner for telematics. The services they provide will allow us to manage our fleet effectively, and influence driver behaviour to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions," James said.
