BMW has revealed the third generation of its X3 SUV ahead of it going on sale in November.

Priced from £38,800, the new model introduces a 2.0-litre petrol engine as well as a number of driver assistance systems

From launch, two diesel engines will be offered - a 190hp diesel and a 3.0-litre diesel - with the new petrol unit and a performance version joining the range thereafter.

Inside, SE level models feature leather seats as standard, xLine models gain sports seats finished in leather and the M Sport trim level adds leather-trimmed sports seats.

As standard, the car is equipped with a 10.3in touchscreen media system. The BMW Display Key found in the 5 and 7 Series models is also an option and offers a numbers of features including informing owners of fuel levels and letting them know if the windows and sunroof are closed.

The X3 adds BMW's gesture control function and the vehicle can also be controlled using the firm's voice assistant, which offers the "most advanced levels of natural voice control currently available". BMW says it allows drivers to request things in everyday language instead of having to use set commands.
