Fuel card giant Allstar has partnered with Visa to launch a new combined fuel and travel-expense card.
Called Allstar Plus, the contactless card allows businesses to control both fuel and travel spending, such as train tickets, via a dedicated product, with the firm claiming it is offering a "total mobility payment solution" for customers.
It provides fleet managers with data from all fuel purchases, including odometer readings and the type of fuel purchased, cutting down on paperwork, such as receipts.
According to Allstar, spending caps can be placed on the card, and employers can define which sectors workers are able to make purchases from through broad categories - such as the food industry.
Allstar said the card also offers up to 2p-per-litre discounts on diesel at more than 1,800 UK forecourts, in line with the rest of its range.
"We recognise that companies sometimes want their employees to be able to pay for more than just fuel, but need to ensure they retain strong controls in the process," said Alan King, UK CEO at Allstar's parent company Fleetcor. "That's why we have created this payment card that combines the benefits of a fuel card with the flexibility of being able to use the Visa network in a controlled way.
"We are delighted to be partnering with Visa on this next-generation fuel card, which delivers a total mobility payment solution to our customers and partners," he added.
