Audi adds 4WD diesel to TT range

Date: 31 January 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Audi has expanded its TT sportscar range by offering a diesel four-wheel drive variant.

Slotting into the model line-up alongside the front-wheel drive version, it is available to order now with first cars set to arrive in the spring.

Priced from £34,230 in Sport trim and coupe form, the diesel 4x4 TT is powered by the same 184hp 2.0-litre unit that's found in the front-wheel drive model. CO2 emissions are rated at 142g/km, placing it in the 30% 2017/18 BIK band.

In roadster guise, the model is priced from £35,845 with CO2 emissions of 147g/km, placing it in the 31% 2017/18 BIK bracket.

In both cases, 4x4 cars carry a premium of around £3,000 compared with FWD variants.

The engine is mated to a six-speed twin-clutch semi-automatic transmission, while the four-wheel system helps drop the 0-62mph sprint time down to 6.7 seconds compared with 7.1 seconds for the FWD model.

In 2015, we ran a FWD version for six months - read the long-term test reports here.
