The start point for the best source of fleet information

Esso Card partners with ATS to reduce VAT recovery times

Date: 18 July 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Users of the Esso fuel card could receive VAT and excise duty reimbursements more quickly following a partnership with VAT reclaim company ATS.

According to Wex Europe Services, owner of Esso Card, customers could be reimbursed within two weeks from receipt of an invoice compared with months at present.

ATS will submit and manage claims on behalf of Esso Card customers, charging a "small fee" for successful claims.

Wex said the partnership removes the hassle of sorting and processing invoices, allowing fleets to focus more on running their business and improving cashflows.

The service offered by ATS covers fuel card purchases across Europe - handy for businesses whose employees regularly travel overseas ? while customers wishing to check the status of their claim can do so via an online portal.

According to Wex, it has on its books 90,000 fleet customers holding 1.4 million fuel cards, who collectively buy two billion litres of fuel annually.

"We believe that procurement departments play a pivotal role in any fleet business by helping them to manage expenses, like VAT," said Peter Dore, commercial and marketing director at Wex Europe Services. "We recognise there are easier ways to streamline the process of VAT reclaim, and our partnership with ATS can help our customers achieve that. We are delighted to be supporting this initiative."
