Facelifted Infiniti Q50 shown ahead of Geneva debut

Date: 03 March 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Infiniti has shown the first image of its facelifted Q50 sports saloon ahead of the model's debut at next week's Geneva motor show.

According to Nissan's luxury arm, the model will introduce a number of world-first innovations, which will make "empowering technologies accessible to a large number of customers".

The company said the Q50 will package driver-assistance devices under the Pro Pilot Assist banner, which includes autonomous technology.

Details are thin on the ground at this stage - expect more information to revealed at the Swiss show next week - but Infiniti said the Q50 will be fitted with an adaptive steering system, which helps the driver manoeuvre the vehicle, and the firm said is a precursor to fully autonomous driving.

The Japanese brand also confirmed the Q50 will be fitted with a range of powertrains, including the firm's 400hp 3.0-litre petrol V6 engine, although expect more mundane options to follow.
