Facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLA to cost from £25,880

Date: 12 January 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Orders for the refreshed Mercedes GLA crossover model have opened ahead of it going on sale in April.

The revised GLA costs from £25,880 for the entry-level GLA 200 SE version, rising to £53,135 for the high-performance AMG GLA 45 in Yellow Night Edition trim.

Two diesel and three petrol engines are available, with CO2 emissions as low as 108g/km of CO2 for the 136hp 2.1-litre diesel engine (badged GLA 200d), which returns 67.3mpg, placing it in the 23% BIK tax bracket for 2017/18.

A more powerful 177hp version (badged GLA 220d) of the 2.1-litre diesel unit is also offered, but efficiency information has not been revealed at this stage.

The most frugal petrol engine, meanwhile, is the GLA 200, which is powered by a 156hp turbocharged 1.6-litre engine that emits 131g/km of CO2 and returns 50.4mpg. These numbers put it in the 25% BIK tax bracket for 2017/18.

As before, and in-line with most of the Mercedes range, three trim levels are offered - SE, Sport and AMG Line - while a special 'WhiteArt' Edition is also offered. There will also be high-performance AMG GLA 45 versions with 381hp.

Priced from £31,260 for the GLA 200, these 'WhiteArt' models are based on AMG Line trim and adds19-inch alloys with a high-sheen finish, black leather with white detailing and black floor mats with 'EDITION' lettering.

Standard kit on SE models includes keyless entry, Apple CarPlay and a reversing camera, as well as a number of option bundles available at extra cost.
