Fleet Assist wins three-year Days Rental SMR contract

Date: 26 May 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Supply chain management company Fleet Assist has won a new contract with Days Rental to undertake SMR work on the vehicle hire company's fleet.

The deal will last for three years and covers Days Rental's fleet of 5,000 vehicles, and has come about following an expansion away from the firm's South and West Wales heartland.

Days Rental now operates 10 rental locations, with new outlets opening in Avonmouth and Exeter, with further plans to expand.

Days Rental's fleet covers cars, 4x4s, minibuses and commercial vehicles, and hire periods range from one day to 36 months.

"The company's expansion outside of South and West Wales necessitated the requirement for a nationwide vehicle SMR function. Among the many attractions of using the Fleet Assist network are the service-level agreements in place with all network garages that ensure our customers will receive the same level of support across the UK. That commitment gave us the confidence that our vehicles would be maintained in accordance with our own high standards," said Mike McCarry, managing director of Days Rental.

Vincent St Claire, managing director of Fleet Assist, said: "Fleet Assist has a long-established and hugely successful track record in delivering SMR solutions to the contract hire and leasing sector.

"We are delighted to have Days Rental as the first in this segment to join our customer community and enjoy the benefits of Fleet Assist's network management product."
