Hertz and Lufthansa expand rental deal

Date: 16 June 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Rental company Hertz and airline Lufthansa have extended a car rental partnership.

Launched in 2013, the partnership allows Lufthansa customers to receive "attractive car rental offers" from Hertz. In addition, members of Lufthansa's frequent fliers' club are able to earn a minimum of 500 miles per rental.

Hertz also powers the airline's car-sharing club for employees in Germany, while the rental giant is the "exclusive partner" for its corporate car rental service for employees around the world.

"We are confident that the renewal of our alliance with Lufthansa will be very welcomed by travellers seeking convenience, high quality and reliability for their trips," said Michel Taride, group president of Hertz International. "Lufthansa's extensive route network across 83 countries, together with our truly global footprint and leading presence in the US, are certainly a perfect match for both leisure and business travellers."

Heike Birlenbach, senior vice-president of sales at Lufthansa, added: "We are very pleased to extend our cooperation with Hertz, our strong partner in the mobility sector. With Hertz we offer our customers a compelling and high-quality car rental product at all Lufthansa destinations worldwide."
